Terms of Service

Last updated · October 21, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Proxy desktop and mobile applications, your Proxy address, and the websites operated by The Proxy Company, a Delaware corporation ("The Proxy Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service. Proxy is a personal AI operating system that runs on your own hardware. Your data, OAuth tokens, and Life Map are stored locally on your device by default. Where optional cloud or third-party services are connected (for example, your Google account), their use is governed by the applicable third-party terms in addition to these Terms.

Eligibility and accounts. You must be at least 18 years old to use the service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.

Acceptable use. You agree not to misuse the service. Prohibited conduct includes: attempting to gain unauthorized access to any system; disrupting or interfering with the service's operation; violating any applicable law or regulation; infringing third-party intellectual property rights; reverse engineering any component of the service except where prohibited by law; using the service to generate, store, or distribute unlawful content; and using the service to surveil or harm others.

Third-party services. When you connect third-party accounts (including Google), you authorize Proxy to access those accounts on your behalf strictly as described in our Privacy Policy and as permitted by the scopes you approve. Revocation of access is handled through the third-party provider's settings or through Proxy's Accounts settings. Your use of any third-party service through Proxy is subject to that service's terms, which we do not control.

Intellectual property. The Proxy name, mark, applications, brand assets, content, and underlying code are the property of The Proxy Company. These Terms do not grant you any right to use them except as needed to use the service as intended. You retain ownership of all data you store locally on your device and all content you create through the service.

Disclaimers. The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Proxy agents can make mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing actions taken on your behalf before they are sent, published, or committed.

Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Proxy Company will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD $100 if you paid nothing.

Indemnification. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Proxy Company from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the service in violation of these Terms or applicable law, or your violation of any third-party right.

Dispute resolution and governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, excluding its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Kings County, New York, and you consent to their exclusive jurisdiction and venue.

Termination. We may suspend or terminate access at our discretion if you breach these Terms or create risk or legal exposure for us or others. You may stop using the service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately; local data on your device remains under your control. Sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, and dispute resolution survive termination.

Changes. We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always posted at theproxycompany.com/terms and is effective on posting for continued use. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify active users before it takes effect.

Miscellaneous. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and The Proxy Company concerning the service and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
